Where have you lived

At AJK Elementary School, the world came a little closer together in a powerful and personal way. Students and teachers gathered around world maps, each holding a small star sticker ready to mark a place that represents part of their story.

One by one, they stepped forward, placing their stars on countries across the globe. From nearby stated to places thousands of miles away, the maps quickly transformed into colorful displays of lived experiences and cultural connections.

This activity wasn’t just about geography—it was about identity. Maps are often used to show locations and directions, but they can also tell stories about people and where they come from . At AJK, each star represented a memory, a family journey, or a place someone once called home.

Activities like this are often used in schools to help students better understand the world and each other, while building collaboration and social awareness . At AJK, it did exactly that... turning a simple map into a living story of diversity.

By the end, the maps were filled with stars, each one a reminder that AJK is more than just a school. It’s a global community, united in one place, with roots that reach all around the world.
