respect

At AJK Elementary, our mornings start with more than just announcements and schedules—we begin with connection. Each day, classrooms gather for Morning Meeting, a time designed to set a positive tone, strengthen relationships, and focus on important life skills.

Through the CharacterStrong curriculum, students learn and practice traits that help them grow as caring classmates and responsible leaders. This month, our focus is on Respect. Students are engaging in activities, discussions, and reflections that help them understand what respect looks like in action—listening attentively, treating others with kindness, and taking care of their learning spaces.

Teachers guide students through interactive prompts, team-building activities, and thoughtful conversations. These moments not only build social-emotional skills but also give every student a chance to be seen, heard, and valued.

Morning Meetings are one way AJK is working to ensure that every child starts their day ready to learn, supported by a strong classroom community built on mutual respect.
