Miss Keyes’ 4th grade class recently practiced their formal writing skills by composing letters to North Chicago Mayor, Leon Rockingham Jr. In their letters, each student expressed their care for the community and shared ideas for positive changes they'd like to see. After reading their thoughtful messages, Mayor Rockingham visited the class to talk about his role and responsibilities, and to respond to some of the students’ suggestions. The visit ended with a lively Q&A session, where students asked him questions they were curious about.
