Students in Ms. Stevenson's SEL (Social Emotional Learning) class were given a hands-on challenge to build a tower of cups. In SEL class, students develop skills that help them manage emotions, build relationships, and teach about making responsible decisions.
In this engaging teamwork activity, students work in small groups to complete a cup stacking challenge using only a rubber band and four pieces of string. Each team receives six cups and must collaborate to build a structured stackāwithout touching the cups with their hands!
To achieve this, students attach their strings to the rubber band, creating a tool to pick up and move the cups. Success in the activity requires strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills. Teams must strategize and coordinate their movements to complete the challenge efficiently.
This hands-on activity not only strengthens teamwork but also fosters creativity and perseverance. By the end, students experience the power of collaboration and the importance of working together to achieve a common goal.
